Role:  Technical Analyst 

Project: Migration of the business systems and data during the clients acquisition of another company.  The data being transitioned is largely in an Oracle database.  The SAP need is for knowledge to create interfaces to/from systems for data feeds.  The ideal candidate will need to have a basic understanding of SAP to determine where in the SAP system to get the data and feed to the migrated newly system.  However, not all of the applications are SAP based.

Interface specification

  • Test strategy
  • High level technical architecture and solution overview (PowerPoint)
  • Database architecture (logical view)
  • Information security specification
  • Technical plan for business systems migration to Ericsson environment

Important skills

  • Interfaces for data feeds between SAP systems and/or non-SAP systems -- example data types: HR, Supply, Sales, Purchasing, Fixed Assets, Business Warehouse, Finance
  • Oracle database (database links and other methods to accommodate data feeds to/from external systems)
  • FTP and other file transfer methods - Batch files, delimited files, etc..
  • Technical requirements analysis, elicitation, and authoring
  • Use Case analysis and authoring
  • Data security for data transferred between business systems
  • Middleware for data transfer to/from SAP / non-SAP systems (Cold Fusion)
  • Formal SDLC processes and reviews
